Integra Bulk Reshaping

Integra Coal open cut is located approximately 7km north of Singleton in NSW and produces 3.8 million product tonnes per annum. NMS Contractors secured a contract in October 2008 for bulk re-shaping of the existing north rehabilitation area of the Integra Coal Open Cut. The scope of work required extensive re-shaping of existing overburden stockpiles along with associated major drainage works.

With over 850,000 BCM of material requiring relocation and shaping to comply with the design terrain model for the final landform, detailed planning by NMS was required in order to develop the most efficient combination of bulk dozer push and truck & excavator operations. A GPS-based survey system was employed by NMS to regularly check conformance against the design model and assist in optimizing earthworks efficiency.
